Showing the way
Soprano have been appointed by Nexus, the Tyne and Wear Passenger Transport Executive, to advise on their website ‘usability’. Soprano has helped Nexus gain a valuable insight into how their customers use their website.
“By using a ‘task based’ approach with a research panel, formed of members of the general public, we developed a series of scenarios that a user might be expected to undertake in visiting the web site.
We then used specialist Human Computer Interface (HCI) technology to track and record the research panels’ interactions with the website, thus allowing us to capture the user’s impressions and observations.
These were translated into ‘heat maps’ and ‘gaze plots’ which helped in assessing what worked and where things could be improved. The results have provided a series of guidelines for future web development”
